The Story Behind
The idea was not conceived in a boardroom, but in the heart of its founder: Alejandra, a mother and activist whose life was profoundly shaped by her trans daughter's journey.
Having witnessed firsthand the daily battles for acceptance and safety faced by her child and countless others from marginalised communities, she recognised a critical gap in the field of language learning. As a seasoned teacher, she was also intimately familiar with the vulnerability inherent in making mistakes, sounding "different," and stepping into a new linguistic identity.
This dual perspective, the fierce protectiveness of a parent and the gentle insight of an educator, sparked a powerful vision. She created ESL not simply as a place to learn grammar and vocabulary, but as a sanctuary: a digital haven where every student, regardless of their gender identity, background, or ability, could feel seen, respected, and secure enough to grow.
It was a deliberate act of creation, transforming her personal love and empathy into a safe, inclusive space where the joy of learning could truly flourish for everyone.

Our purpose
To connect with each student while enabling them to connect with others through the language.
In the context of ESL, connecting means getting to know each student, respecting their identity, and creating a space where they feel safe and welcome.
At the same time, we want Spanish to serve as a bridge, allowing them to connect with Latin American culture and with other Spanish speakers.
